Transport Layer Protocol
Transport Layer Protocol is a set of rules and procedures that govern the communication between two devices in a network. It is responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient data transfer between applications running on different hosts. The Transport Layer Protocol provides end-to-end communication services such as error detection, flow control, congestion control, and packet sequencing. It also establishes a logical connection between the sender and receiver, and manages the data transfer process by breaking the data into smaller segments, reassembling them at the receiving end, and ensuring that they are delivered in the correct order. The most common Transport Layer Protocols are Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP). TCP is a connection-oriented protocol that guarantees reliable data delivery, while UDP is a connectionless protocol that provides faster data transfer but without any reliability guarantees.
