Processing Units

Processing Units refer to the physical components of a computer system that are responsible for executing instructions and performing calculations. The two main types of processing units used in these fields are Central Processing Units (CPUs) and Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). GPUs are particularly well-suited for tasks such as training deep neural networks, which require large amounts of matrix multiplication. In recent years, specialized processing units such as Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) have also been developed specifically for machine learning tasks, offering even greater performance and efficiency.
