T-distribution

In statistics, the t-distribution is a probability distribution that is used to estimate population parameters when the sample size is small and/or the population standard deviation is unknown. It is a type of continuous probability distribution that is similar to the normal distribution but has heavier tails. The t-distribution is often used in hypothesis testing, confidence interval estimation, and regression analysis. It is also used in the Student's t-test, which is a statistical test that compares the means of two independent samples. The shape of the t-distribution depends on the degrees of freedom, which is the number of independent observations in the sample minus one.
