Rank-sum
Rank-sum is a non-parametric statistical test used to compare two independent groups. It is also known as the Mann-Whitney U test. The test is used to determine whether two independent samples were drawn from populations having the same distribution or not. The rank-sum test is used when the data is not normally distributed or when the sample size is small. The test involves ranking all the observations from both groups together, then calculating the sum of the ranks for each group. The test statistic is the smaller of the two sums. The p-value is calculated from the test statistic and the sample size, and is used to determine whether the difference between the two groups is statistically significant or not.
