RAID
RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) is a technology that combines multiple physical hard drives into a single logical unit to improve performance, reliability, and/or capacity. There are several RAID levels, each with its own trade-offs between performance, data redundancy, and cost. RAID 0, for example, stripes data across multiple disks to increase read/write speeds, but offers no redundancy. RAID 1 mirrors data across two disks for redundancy, but offers no performance improvement. RAID 5 and RAID 6 use parity data to provide redundancy while also improving performance and capacity. RAID is commonly used in enterprise environments for critical applications and data storage.
