Programmable Logic
Programmable Logic refers to the ability to program digital circuits using hardware description languages (HDLs) such as Verilog or VHDL. Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs) are integrated circuits that can be programmed to perform specific logic functions. These devices include Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLDs). FPGAs are particularly useful in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence applications because they can be reprogrammed to implement custom hardware accelerators for specific algorithms, resulting in significant performance improvements. Additionally, FPGAs can be used to implement custom hardware architectures for neural networks, enabling the creation of highly optimized and efficient deep learning models.
