FPGAs

FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) are integrated circuits that can be programmed and reprogrammed to perform specific tasks. They consist of a matrix of configurable logic blocks, interconnects, and I/O blocks that can be programmed to implement digital circuits. FPGAs are used in a variety of applications, including digital signal processing, image and video processing, cryptography, and machine learning. They offer high performance, low power consumption, and flexibility, making them an attractive alternative to traditional application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and general-purpose processors (CPUs and GPUs). FPGAs can be programmed using hardware description languages (HDLs) such as Verilog and VHDL, or high-level synthesis (HLS) tools that convert software algorithms into hardware circuits. FPGAs are also used in cloud computing and data centers to accelerate compute-intensive workloads.
