Infrastructure refers to the underlying physical or virtual components that support the storage, processing, and analysis of data in a data science or artificial intelligence system. This includes hardware such as servers, storage devices, and networking equipment, as well as software such as operating systems, databases, and analytics tools. Infrastructure also encompasses the processes and procedures used to manage and maintain these components, including security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring. In a cloud-based environment, infrastructure may be provided by a third-party provider, while in an on-premises environment, infrastructure is typically owned and managed by the organization itself.
