Industrial Automation refers to the use of control systems, such as computers or robots, and information technologies for handling different processes and machineries in an industry to replace a human being. The main objective of industrial automation is to increase productivity, efficiency, and quality while reducing costs and errors. Industrial automation involves the use of various technologies such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Distributed Control Systems (DCSs). These technologies are used to control and monitor different industrial processes such as assembly lines, material handling, and quality control. Industrial automation also involves the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to optimize the performance of industrial processes and to predict and prevent equipment failures.
