Data Types
In Data Science, data types refer to the classification of data items based on their nature and characteristics. It is an important concept as it helps in understanding the type of data that is being used and how it can be processed. There are various types of data types such as numeric, character, boolean, date/time, and categorical. Numeric data types include integers, decimals, and floating-point numbers. Character data types include letters, symbols, and alphanumeric characters. Boolean data types include true/false values. Date/time data types include dates and times. Categorical data types include nominal and ordinal data. Nominal data types are used to represent data that has no inherent order, such as colors or names. Ordinal data types are used to represent data that has a natural order, such as rankings or ratings.
