Control Group
In Data Science, a control group is a group of individuals or data points that are used as a benchmark to compare the results of an experiment or study. The control group is typically used to measure the effect of a treatment or intervention by comparing it to a group that has not received the treatment. This helps to ensure that any observed effects are actually due to the treatment and not to other factors. Control groups are commonly used in randomized controlled trials, where participants are randomly assigned to either the treatment group or the control group. In data analysis, control groups can also be used to establish causality and to control for confounding variables.
