Treatment
In Data Science, treatment refers to the application of a specific intervention or manipulation to a group of subjects in order to observe the effect of that intervention on a particular outcome of interest. Treatment can be used in experimental designs to test the efficacy of a new drug or therapy, or in observational studies to investigate the impact of a policy change or other natural experiment. The goal of treatment is to isolate the effect of the intervention from other potential confounding factors, such as individual differences or environmental factors, in order to establish a causal relationship between the intervention and the outcome. Treatment can be applied in a variety of settings, including clinical trials, social science research, and business analytics.
