Polynomial Arithmetic
Polynomial arithmetic is a branch of mathematics that deals with the operations involving polynomials, which are expressions consisting of variables and coefficients, involving only the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and non-negative integer exponents. In data science, polynomial arithmetic is used in polynomial regression, a statistical method that models the relationship between a dependent variable and one or more independent variables as an nth degree polynomial. This method is used to fit a curve to a set of data points, allowing for the prediction of future values. Polynomial arithmetic is also used in machine learning algorithms, such as support vector machines and decision trees, to model complex relationships between variables.
