Objective Function

In Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, an objective function is a mathematical function that is used to measure the performance of a machine learning model. It is also known as a loss function or cost function. The objective function takes the predicted output and the actual output and produces a scalar value that represents how well the model is performing. The goal of the machine learning algorithm is to minimize the value of the objective function, which means that the predicted output is as close as possible to the actual output. The choice of objective function depends on the type of problem being solved and the nature of the data. For example, in a classification problem, the objective function could be cross-entropy loss, while in a regression problem, it could be mean squared error.
