Integration Testing
Integration testing is a software testing technique that tests the interaction between different software modules. It is performed after unit testing and before system testing. The purpose of integration testing is to identify defects in the interfaces and interactions between different modules. Integration testing can be done in two ways: top-down and bottom-up. In top-down integration testing, the higher-level modules are tested first, and the lower-level modules are tested later. In bottom-up integration testing, the lower-level modules are tested first, and the higher-level modules are tested later. Integration testing is important because it ensures that the software modules work together as expected and that the system meets the requirements. It also helps to identify and fix defects early in the development cycle, which reduces the cost of fixing defects later in the cycle.
