Independent Variable
In Data Science, an independent variable is a variable that is manipulated or changed by the researcher in order to observe its effect on the dependent variable. It is also known as the predictor variable. In statistical modeling, independent variables are used to predict the outcome of the dependent variable. For example, in a study to determine the effect of temperature on plant growth, temperature is the independent variable as it is being manipulated by the researcher. The dependent variable, in this case, would be the plant growth. The relationship between the independent and dependent variables can be analyzed using various statistical techniques such as regression analysis and correlation analysis.
