Hierarchical structure refers to a type of organizational structure where entities are arranged in a tree-like structure with multiple levels of hierarchy. In data science, hierarchical structure is often used to represent data that has a natural hierarchy, such as organizational structures, family trees, or taxonomies. Hierarchical clustering is a popular unsupervised machine learning technique that groups similar data points together based on their proximity in a hierarchical tree. Hierarchical models are also used in Bayesian statistics to model complex data with multiple levels of hierarchy.
