Censoring Mechanism

Censoring Mechanism is a statistical technique used in survival analysis to handle incomplete data. It occurs when the event of interest has not occurred for some subjects at the end of the study or when they are lost to follow-up. Censoring Mechanism is used to estimate the survival function of a population by taking into account the censored observations. There are three types of censoring mechanisms: right censoring, left censoring, and interval censoring. Right censoring occurs when the event of interest has not occurred by the end of the study, while left censoring occurs when the event of interest has occurred before the study began. Interval censoring occurs when the event of interest occurs between two time points, but it is not known exactly when it occurred.
