Measurement Scale

Measurement scale is a system of assigning numbers or labels to variables in a research or data analysis process. It is used to quantify and categorize the characteristics of a population or sample. There are four types of measurement scales: nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio. Nominal scales are used to categorize data into distinct groups, such as gender or race. Ordinal scales rank data in a specific order, such as levels of education. Interval scales measure the distance between values, but do not have a true zero point, such as temperature in Celsius. Ratio scales have a true zero point and can be used to measure absolute values, such as weight or height.
