Look-Up Tables
Look-Up Tables (LUTs) are data structures used in computer science and data science to store precomputed values that can be quickly retrieved during runtime. In the context of image processing, LUTs are used to map input pixel values to output pixel values based on a predefined function. This function can be used to adjust the brightness, contrast, or color of an image. LUTs are also used in cryptography to store precomputed values for encryption and decryption algorithms. In database management, LUTs are used to store frequently accessed data for faster retrieval. LUTs can be implemented using arrays, hash tables, or binary trees.
