Global Positioning System

Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather conditions, anywhere on or near the Earth. It is made up of a network of satellites orbiting the Earth, ground control stations, and GPS receivers. GPS works by measuring the time it takes for signals from at least four satellites to reach a receiver on the ground. By comparing the time the signals were transmitted and the time they were received, the receiver can calculate its distance from each satellite and use this information to determine its precise location. GPS is widely used in various applications such as navigation, surveying, mapping, and tracking.
